Water Washout Characteristics of Lubricating Grease is determined by the standard test ASTM D1264. This test evaluates the ability of a lubricating grease to resist being washed out from a bearing when exposed to water.

Application : The Water Washout Apparatus is used to determine the resistance of lubricating grease to washout by water from a bearing when subjected to water spray under controlled laboratory conditions. Automotive wheel bearing greases, Marine and wet-environment lubricants, Industrial machinery exposed to water, Quality control of lubricating greases.
Product Description : The apparatus simulates real operating conditions where grease in a bearing is exposed to water. A standard test bearing packed with grease is rotated at 600 ± 30 rpm while water at a controlled temperature is sprayed onto it for 1 hour. The percentage of grease washed out is determined by weight loss. The unit consists of a bearing housing assembly, water spray system, constant speed motor, water bath with temperature control, and support frame.
